Are You A Thankful Person?

If you talk to people that are close to me, they'll tell you I have plenty of things to work on and more than my share of faults. But one thing I don't struggle with is being thankful. I feel bad for those who can never find anything to be thankful for. More often, there is something to complain about.

It's understandable in today's world to see the heartache, the problems, and the sorrows. These are all around us. However, the very "heartaches of life" can teach us to be thankful for the things that are precious and worthwhile. I love to see a younger person demonstating thankfulness in words and deeds. Why wait until we grow old to appreciate simple things?

Do our children, grandchildren, or our students see thankfulness in us? When Thanksgiving nears, what better time can there be to find something to be thankful for? Before enjoying our Thanksgiving dinner, is there someone we can surprise with words like, "This Thanksgiving, I want you to know how thankful I am to have you in my life."
